FabCooking with Ellen (Director of Community Engagement) will run for six weeks, twice a week at the Community Baptist Church Annex or Senior Center, starting in April. Designed for middle school students, our focus will be on studying and then recreating cultural dishes to broaden intercultural experiences.
With this program, we hope to create awareness for our students to recognize similarities and differences in food from different ethnicities. In having cultural acceptance and exposure to various foods will help our students find their Positive Future Vision, and is associated with a variety of positive outcomes, including increased empathy, understanding, communication skills, and critical thinking skills.
