FabNewport Works with Companies, Governments, Schools, Communities, Non-Profits, and other Organizations & Individuals to address the universally complex issue of creating a revolutionary educational environment for all. These partnerships allow us continue our mission to provide the premier Community-Based, Maker & STEM, educational programs and labs in the State of Rhode Island. However, our partners contribute more than just money. Their ideas, in-kind support, and most importantly, their volunteer power & enthusiasm are helping to strengthen both our programs and our communities.

The Providence Shelter for Colored Children

Founded in 1838, the Providence Shelter is one of Rhode Island’s oldest independent charities. Originally a building where “colored orphans” were housed and cared for, it is now a foundation giving grants to organizations serving black children.

 

Partners

AmeriCorps

Newport Check and Connect. It is a mentoring program that places adult AmeriCorps members in to the Newport public schools to connect with students struggling with absenteeism and truancy.  The members are in the schools 30 to 40 hours a week, including after school programs. 
 

PVD Young Makers

The City of Providence is teaming up with Providence Public Library, the Providence Community Libraries, FabNewport, the Rhode Island Museum of Science and Industry, and Young Voices to bring makerspaces into 10 libraries in our neighborhoods.
