Summer Celebration
Please join us as we celebrate our learners, families, and another wonderful summer surfing, cycling, farming, kayaking, exploring, laughing and making friends with FabNewport!

Enjoy creative connecting and a talent show as we gather to recognize the creativity, growth, and community that made this summer special.
A recent conversation with a couple whose son founded the Uthando Foundation in South Africa prompted a moment of reflection. While we’re busy guiding learners into the waves, through the marsh, along trails, and up trees, it can be easy to overlook how far FabNewport has come.
Last year, we received the Governor’s Workforce Board Youth Empowerment Award. Now, the Newport Public Education Foundation has honored us with the Noreen Stonor Drexel Friend of Education Award:
“In partnership with dozens of local organizations, you have helped seed a collaborative ecosystem of learning that reaches every corner of Aquidneck Island—a gift to Newport’s students that grows year after year. It is this combination of innovation, inclusion, and genuine partnership that makes FabNewport a true Friend of Education.”
After 13 remarkable years, we’re preparing for our next chapter: launching Endless Summer and returning to the renovated Florence Gray Center in November. We hope to see you, we hope to hear from you—and you can expect to hear much more from us. Thank you for making this journey possible.
Our Learners Are Committed
We’re thrilled to share that, following thoughtful conversations with learners and their families, that 15 participants (our capacity for 2026-27) have secured their places in the Endless Summer Year-Round Learning Community which launches on September 9.
Last winter, when asked to describe school in a word or phrase, a learner who will be joining replied, after a rub of her chin in brief contemplation, “limited.” The Endless Summer hopes to expand what learning can look and feel like—opening new possibilities for curiosity, connection, creativity, and growth throughout the year.
