Wearables Workshop for Girls
FabNewport is offering a 1-week wearables workshop for girls the first week in August.
August 1-5; 9am-3pm
$250.00 (Suggested) Scholarship Available
Campers will learn 2D and 3D design, coding, basics of electronics, sewing, and more. Skills learned will be used to create unique wearables. Wearables are an emerging technology field, with the most common examples being the fitbit or google glass. In the case of fabrics and textiles, printed circuits create a web of sensors connected to sewn-in mircocontrollers. Campers will learn new skills, execute ideas, meet professionals and be inspired as they see their ideas brought to life.
